21st-Jun-2007 01:13 pm (UTC) - Hej!
Thank you for friending me back. I guess you would understand me if I wrote in Swedish, but since your LJ is in English, I decided to stick to that language.
My real name is Catrin and I'm a teacher. No husband and no kids but instead I have my most wonderful persian cat Tryggve!
I will travel to London on 18/7 and stay at a cheap hotel in Northern Bayswater and probably go to the Not the Yule Ball.
I hope I will see you at Sectus! So far, I haven't met another HP fanfiction fanatic in real life!
Hugs/Catrin

Good choice, I'm much better with english than swedish ;) (though I have once translated 200 pages of swedish text about chainsaws into danish for a catalog).
I'm arriving in London on July 13th, and I'm staying at Piccadilly Hostel with [livejournal.com profile] kabal42 and [livejournal.com profile] blue_braces. I'm going to the ball and I'm looking so much forward to meeting both old and new friends ;)
My first con was Patronus last year in Copenhagen, it was fantastic, this will be even better!!
*hugs* Camilla

I've friended you back :)
I haven't posted much about Sectus, as I was avoiding the internet completely until after I had read the book.

Hi! You don't know me, but I was going around at Sectus filming absolutely everything I possibly could to make an un-official Sectus video, giving fans interviews too, and I've finally nearly finished it (it's around 90 minutes long, probably still be longer).

As you were part of the committee, I was wondering on the off chance if you would like to contribute maybe a recording of yourself, as long or as short as you'd want, about what it was like to be there, to help organise Sectus, to talk with the fans (especially after the 7th book was released), and any other thoughts or feelings you had at the time.

It would be a brilliant addition to the un-official video, which i'm going to give a download link to Elanor (shes knows about the video), to put on the Sectus Live Journal site so all the fans can download it and keep at as a real memory of that occasion.

Of course I understand completely if you can't or wouldn't like to, but if you can do a little recording of yourself, visual or just audio, and email it to me (starrose@hotmail.co.uk) it would be brilliant! It's a video I'm making with Heiko, who was an Auror at Sectus. I have asked Elanor too and I've just emailed Steve Vandar Ark (I had a breif interview with them just before the book was released), and i'm going to track down the other committee members and ask them too.

If you want to check this is a serious video i'm making, I have a YouTube account where i've already upload the midnight release at Sectus (i was 5th from the front), and also a "The End of Harry Potter Dedication Video" featuring many Sectus moments:

Thank you for your time!

Hi, fellow Scandinavian here. Hope you don't mind my intrusion. :) Would you like to discuss fandom in Scandinavian or do you have Scandinavian fanworks to share? Perhaps you'd consider joining us over at [livejournal.com profile] scandafandom?

We are many Scandinavians here on LJ, but we almost all post and comment in English. I'm contacting you to try to gather us in a strong and lively Scandinavian speaking milieu, where we can get beta readers for fanfics in our mother tongue, squee over Scandinavian events, fanworks and cons (not just stare in envy at our American friends' posts from AWA...) and so on. You can talk about all kinds of fandom related topics at [livejournal.com profile] scandafandom, as long as you post in a Scandinavian language. See you there?

(How I found you: I searched for Scandinavian journals with recent updates. I then had a look at your profile and journal, saw that you were active in fandom and thought that you would possibly be open for an invitation. I hope I wasn't totally amiss. :)
